County of Kauai on Tuesday named the remaining victims in the Dec. 26 Koke’e helicopter crash. Those in the Safari tour helicopter include 69-year-old Paul Matero of Wailua and two of the passengers were 47-year-old Amy Gannon and 13-year-old Jocelyn Gannon of Madison, Wisconsin.
Tuesday, the remaining victims were named, a Swiss family of four: 50-year-old Sylvie Winteregg, 49-year-old Christophe Winteregg, 13-year-old Alice Winteregg and 10-year-old Agathe Winteregg.
All six of the passengers were vacationing on Kauai.
According to Facebook and other social media posts, Sylvie Winteregg was a regular at the Golf Club Payerne in Vaud, Switzerland.
Christophe Winteregg’s Linkedin account shows he’d been working at the information technology company Oracle for the past 12 years and had longstanding experience in the fields of internet technology and identity and security management. He was a 2019 graduate of the University of Michigan, according to his profile, and was a 2005 graduate of the Universite de Neuchatel.
Photos indicate the family traveled together often and lived an active lifestyle.
According to the Associated Press, the Gannon family was engaged in the Madison community and interviews with close friends showed the impact the death of Amy and Jocelyn Gannon would have on the city.
Amy Gannon was co-founder of a nonprofit company that focuses on fostering success for women entrepreneurs. Jocelyn Gannon was an eighth-grader at Hamilton Middle School.
The other two people in the Gannon family, Amy’s husband and son, were also on vacation on Kauai at the time of the crash, but chose not to go on the sightseeing tour.
Mr. Gannon and son were either fortunate or wise.
