Kauai’s first race of the year is Saturday.
The Resolution Run winds through the paths on the old golf course at Hokuala resort in Lihue. It is a family friendly 5k that supports the Pu‘uwai Canoe Club and offers spectacular scenery.
There will be awards, refreshments and T-shirts. Keiki under 12 are free with adults, and walkers and leashed dogs are welcome.
Directions: Drive into the Kauai Marriott Resort off Rice Street and past the Hokuala golf clubhouse. Before the bridge take a left, and another left immediately. Drive to the end of the road in the cul-de-sac.
Late registration is 6 to 7 a.m. and the race starts at 8.
