Meet ta‘ape the blue-stripe snapper

The invasive and nuisance ta‘ape, or blue-striped snapper, competes effectively against native fish on Kauai coral reefs.

This schooling, yellow-and-blue, foot-long fish is the most common fish on Hawaiian coral reefs, and it is an immigrant from the Marquesas Islands!
