Ron Wiley was chatting with Merrimans chef Mark Arriola on the anniversary dinner special (Saturday night) benefiting the Kauai United Way. Ron was emceeing The Shops at Kukuiula Holiday Bash that served as a fundraiser for the Kauai Independent Food Bank, where Rowena Cobb was busy Friday morning with the Kauai Retired and Senior Volunteer Program recognition luncheon before getting to Poipu. Justin Pajela and Pillare Mukai were busy collecting votes and the count on who took the Battle Royale tree decorating started.

Kudos to Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami, county Agency on Elderly Affairs’ Kealoha Takahashi, RSVP director Donna Olivas-Kaohi, Grace Delos Reyes and all the hands involved in putting on this recognition event where RSVP could take a day off from their volunteerism to enjoy lunch, fellowship and prizes (the rice paddles hit the spot!).
Santa was only thinking about his busy weekend that started with the Holiday Bash. He got a nice overnight sleep before appearing at the Holly Jolly event at the former Big Kmart parking lot near Kukui Grove Center, and then the Jeep was off to the Kauai Coffee (Fred Cowell and Faith Soto were at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce general membership meeting Thursday, too) open house before returning back to the Holly Jolly.
And more kudos to Jen Chahanovich, Mark Perriello and all those chamber people on a great 31st silent auction and general membership meeting, where Ron Wood scored on the NAPA bucket of goodies after being outbid on the Kaha Lani condominium package.
