This year’s effort received a big boost when a donor pledged up to $5,000 to match donations of at least $150.
Contributions benefit people with special needs like Nalani, who requires use of a G-tube and wheelchair. She resides with her parents and siblings in Lihue and is currently attending Wilcox Elementary School. She has an assistant who works on her goals to increase her independence. One of her goals is to increase her mobility. The request is for financial assistance to make her home environment more accessible as well as have the appropriate tools to increase her muscle strength.
Anolani has an intellectual disability, physical limitation, and is mute, She recently moved into an adult foster home where her funds are very limited. She is active in the community but would like to participate in community activities that require funding. The request is for funding to assist Anolani to participate in community activities she normally does not have the opportunity to enjoy due to her limited, fixed income.
