NAWILIWILI — The crew with the small sailboat with a big mission, the Golden Rule, is continuing to make the rounds on Kauai.
The crew of the peace sailboat Golden Rule, which arrived Dec. 1, will be at free events:
• Tonight, 6 to 7:30, Hanapepe Public Library;
• Friday, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Princeville Community Association clubhouse.
They will show a documentary video followed by talk story.
The Golden Rule entered Hawaii history books in 1958 when she attempted to sail to the Marshall Islands to disrupt atmospheric detonation of nuclear weapons, and sparked a worldwide protest resulting in an atmospheric nuclear test ban treaty in 1963.
Today, Golden Rule is on a trans Pacific voyage, sailing for a nuclear-free future. She intends to be in Japan for the 75th observance of the bombings of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
