Penny Nichols (does this mean Island School art students get a field trip for this exhibit, too?) shows off her Kahiko piece that was awarded during the opening reception for the Kauai Society of Artists small work Big Show exhibit at the KSA gallery at Kukui Grove Center.

Alex Henriques, far right, is in his dad Manny’s footsteps as he records video and gets photos of the awards being presented at the Kauai Society of Artists’ opening reception Friday evening at the small works Big Show exhibition at the KSA gallery at Kukui Grove Center.

The students at Koloa School just “brought what they could” and the students of the Elsie Wilcox Elementary School got help from Vice Principal Deena Fontana and Jonel Elias (how can the water go off right at the start of the collection?) and the student council in sharing food (more than half a ton!) because they are “Grateful” … kudos to Holo Holo Charters (was a nice chance to catch up with Dan Sargent of McBryde Resources and Trinette Kaui of A&B Properties) on their first food drive.
