The Hawaii Jiu-Jitsu tour will host its last event of the year at Kauai High School on Sunday.
The tour is a series of 10 meets on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island.
Organizer Romolo Barros said winning and losing is inconsequential to kids participating and learning the discipline of martial arts.
“It’s important that they have a fun, positive experience,” Barros said. “It’s really beneficial to the kids to not focus on wins and losses, but having a fun experience and developing character in competition.”
Weigh-in for kids is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and adults are from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Competition starts at 10.
A portion of the proceeds support local charities.
