LIHUE — The state of Hawaii will receive a $6.5 million grant to purchase new buses for Kauai and Hawaii Island, the Federal Transit Administration said Friday.
“Investing in new buses for Kauai means that the residents who depend on them to get to school or work every day will continue to have an affordable way to get around,” said U.S. Sen Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
This funding will be used to purchase three 30-foot buses and three smaller buses for the County of Kauai.
Yay!
Now we just need a few more bus stops…
And maybe stops that have a larger overhang.
More busses? There are 30 already parked not being used in LIHUE, they could be homeless shelters.
We need 15 passenger vans running more often not these empty busses in use today. How about busses every 15 minutes with more stops, like wherever you want safely along the way.
More people would use the bus system.
Rural Kaua’i and Big Island only need Vans.
