KAGRA names Casera Silva 2019 All Around

POIPU — Casera Silva piled up 218 points, including four top division spots, to earn the honor of All Around Cowgirl by the Kauai All Girl Rodeo Association. The announcement followed the final rodeo event for 2019 that ended the calendar year in August.

Coralyn Murayama finished the year with 189 points to earn the Reserve All Around Cowgirl crown.

Division winners included Casera topping the First D in 3D Barrel Racing with 57 points followed by Coryssa Silva at 47 points, and Pat Hashimoto-Ferreira at 42 points.

Second D in Barrel Racing belonged to Francesca Michetti topping the division with 44 points followed by Debbie Bail atop Lena getting 30 points, and Shan Wilson following two marks back at 28 points.

Third D in Barrel Racing went to Marie Bivens who finished with 43 points over Dena Souza getting 30 points, and Wendy Tannery ending the year with 27 points.

Coryssa Silva, a strong challenger to Casera throughout the year, topped the First D in Pole Bending with 50 points followed byi Kiara Ruiz at 39 points, and Casera ending with 27 points.

Second D in the 3D Pole Bending event belonged to Nancy McMahon who finished with 46 points over Debbie Bail getting 23 points, and Gayle Thompson finishing with 17 points.

Wailana Blackstad claimed top honors in the Third D on 41 points followed by Dena Souza at 34 points and Janey Low ending the year with 29 points.

Casera Silva rose to the top of the Steer Undecorating event with 52 points followed by Hallie Cristobal at 41 points, just a point better than Kim Medeiros who settled for third place at 40 points.

Coralyn Murayama, the Reserve All Around Cowgirl, had full control of the Breakaway Roping class with 47 points followed by Coryssa Silva, netting the Breakaway Fast time at 2.51, getting the nod for second place with 35 points, earned on a 90.34 average on 10 go’s. Kiara Ruiz finished with a 108.11 average on 10 go’s to tie Coryssa at 35 points.

Casera controlled the Dally Team-Heeler class with 70 points followed by Kim Medeiros at 61 points, and Trish Lorenzo at 39 points.
