‘Caregiving’ and ‘Cake’ coming up

If you’re a family caregiver you deserve a free slice of cake and conversation with fellow caregivers and AARP Family Caregiving Expert Amy Goyer in Lihue during National Family Caregiver Month.

AARP Hawaii is hosting a “Caregiving and Cake” event at the Kauai Community College cafeteria on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. with Goyer, the author of the award-winning book “Juggling Life, Work and Caregiving.”

Goyer will share tips on how to balance caregiving and life. You’ll also learn about local and national resources available to caregivers and learn and network with other caregivers.

The workshops are free and refreshments will be provided, but you must preregister by going to aarp.org/HI and clicking on Upcoming Events or by calling 1-877-926-8300.

Goyer has spent most of her working life as a caregiver to her grandparents, parents and sisters and is a national expert and consultant on caregiving.

She has shared her knowledge on caregiving on national programs.
