Steven Randolph Smith
Steven Randolph Smith of Lihue passed away at the age of 78 on Oct. 6, 2019.
Born on Oct. 24, 1940, in Torrence, California, he was a professional golfer and U.S. Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by parents William and Bettye Smith, daughter Christina Smith, and brother Christopher Smith.
He is survived by caregiver Beulah Smith, son Derek Smith Bracken, daughter Janeene Smith, four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
His celebration of life was private.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Mervyn Tadashi Kimura
Mervyn Tadashi Kimura, 72, of Kalaheo, passed away at home on Oct. 19, 2019. He was born in Hanapepe on June 2, 1947, and upon his professional retirement he worked with his wife at their family owned business, Kalaheo Flowers and Gardens.
He was preceded in death by first wife Karen Cluff Kimura, and parents Norman and Yaeko Kimura.
He is survived by wife Carol Kimura, children Jamiee (Yu) Ohki, Julie (Jarom) Brizzee, Brandon Kimura and Benjamin Kimura, grandchildren Caryn Ohki, Mari Brizzee, Maile Ohki, Ison Ohki and Luke Brizzee, sister Jan Humber, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kalaheo Ward, with viewing from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Gerard Kanani Hulama Sr.
Gerard Kanani Hulama Sr. passed away in Lihue on Oct. 11, 2019, at the age of 66. He was born on Jan. 17, 1953, in Hilo, Hawaii. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by father Henry Konakakino Hulama Sr., mother Annie Laurie Hulama, brother Henry Konakakino Hulama Jr., nephews and a grandson.
He is survived by wife Nova Dale Vea Hulama, son Gerard K. Hulama Jr. of Kauai and hanai son Sammy Morrentino of Kauai, daughters Gerri-Lu (Shane) Waikiki-Madeyski of the Big Island, Cynthia Hulama of Kauai, Raynette (Keith) Yamamoto of Kauai, Tasha (Warren) Tavares (daughter-in-law) of Kauai, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers Mike (Kaoi) Hulama of Oahu, Jesse (Debbie) Hulama Sr. of the Big Island, Stanford (Linda) Hulama Sr. of the Big Island, sisters Rowena (Ronald Silva) of the Big Island, Joanne Hula of the Big Island, Faye Williams of the Big Island, and by numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services are Saturday, Nov. 23, at Old Koloa Church, 3269 Poipu Rd., with visitation from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and celebration of life at 10:30 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire.
