WAIOLI — Night closures of Kuhio Highway at Waioli Bridge continue through Thursday night, the Hawaii Department of Transportation reminds residents and visitors.
Scheduled so work can continue on Waioli Bridge, the closures will be from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. tonight and Thursday night. Closures started Tuesday evening.
Pedestrians are advised that they will be escorted across the bridge as the work flow safely allows. There is no pedestrian bridge available for Waioli Bridge. Pedestrian access through the work zone will be limited to once an hour. Shuttles will bring pedestrians from the Park and Ride locations to the bridge at the top of every hour. Work on the bridge will stop so pedestrians can safely be escorted across the bridge. For safety reasons, pedestrians will not be allowed on the bridge or in the work zone without an escort.
