Construction of Black Pot Beach Park comfort station to begin

HANALEI — Construction of the Black Pot Beach Park comfort station is set to begin on Aug. 29 and run through the month of November.

The project has a $1.6 million price tag.

“Mahalo to the North Shore community for your engagement, input and feedback on this project,” said Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami in a press release.

Yamasato Higa Architecture and Planning Inc. is the project architect, and Shioi Construction is project contractor.

    I hope the architectural firm does its homework in designing something that isn’t dark, damp and disgusting. I’ve been to public toilets all over the world and Hawaii has some of the worst.
