LIHUE — Brayden Poai might have missed football practice for the Kapaa High School Warriors team to tend to his project for the 4-H Livestock program.

That effort netted Poai Grand Champion Steer honors as well as Reserve Senior Showmanship Steer and Reserve Senior Showmanship Lamb awards, symbolizing awards for his entries into the 4-H Livestock Show at the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair that wrapped up Saturday night with the auction of livestock after being spread out from the fair’s opening night Thursday.

That means that the Dress Weight awards are yet to come.

Poai was joined at the top tier by Rayven Orsatelli, a Junior 4-Her, who nailed the Grand Champion Hog show, Kailea Horka, another Junior 4-Her, who was named Grand Champion Lamb, and Chambrie Keale, a Senior 4-Her like Poai, nailing Grand Champion honors in the Goat show.
