Rain was expected to linger across the eastern half of the state before trade wind weather returns through the weekend.
Erick was 345 miles south of Lihue. It was moving west-northwest at 9 mph, with maximum sustained wins of about 40 mph.
Later this weekend through early next week, Tropical Storm Flossie will approach and could bring additional impacts.
Flossie was 1,220 miles east-southeast of Lihue. It was moving west-northwest at 17 mph with 60 mph winds.
This weekend, clouds, rain and humidity are expected on Kauai, along with high surf along south-facing shores.
