Keiki bike safety on Saturday
Keiki Bike and Skateboard Safety Day is set for 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wilcox Medical Center back parking lot.
It will include a helmet fit station, bike and skateboard safety inspection stations and skills enhancement courses, and drawings for free bikes and skateboards.
Hundreds of certified helmets will also be fitted and given away to keiki.
Hundred of keiki are expected to attend this popular and important day to keep kids safe.

Alzheimer program scheduled
A program, “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia,” is scheduled 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug.7 at the Princeville Public Library.
It is presented by the Alzheimer’s Association.
“Alzheimer’s is not normal aging. It’s a disease of the brain that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior,” according to a press release.
It will cover:
• The difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia
• Alzheimer’s disease stages and risk factors
• Current research and treatments available to address some symptoms.
World Lung Cancer day Thursday
HONOLULU — According to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, lung cancer death rates in the U.S. have decreased 11.5 percent since 2013. For World Lung Cancer Day on Thursday, the American Lung Association in Hawaii is highlighting recent lung cancer advancements that save more lives.
Since the inception of the Lung Health Barometer survey, women have become more likely to speak to their doctor about lung cancer.
