LIHUE — County officials would like to remind Kauai property owners that the first installment of real property taxes for the 2019-2020 tax year are due on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Payments can be made online at kauairpt.ehawaii.gov by mail, in person or at a drop box located outside the Kapule Building at the Lihue Civic Center.
Make checks payable to the Director of Finance.
Property tax bills were recently mailed to all owners on record or their respective mortgage institutions for those with impound accounts.
Property owners who pay their real property taxes directly and have not yet received their property tax bills should inquire at the Real Property Tax Collection office at the Lihue Civic Center, Kapule Building, 4444 Rice Street, Suite 463, or call 241-4272.
Failure to pay real property taxes by the due date will result in a 10 percent penalty, as well as 12 percent interest per year.
