The Lihue Business Association’s July 25 meeting will focus on preventing small business scams.
Sally Greenberg, executive director, National Consumers League, will explain how to spot and avoid scams.
“Learn how to become a smarter consumer and avoid business fraud before it happens,” said a flier.
Greenberg has testified numerous times before Congress on consumer protection issues, including on product safety, fraud, consumer rip-offs in calling cards and in support of protections for farmworker children.
She also serves on the board of the Keystone Center, which helps leaders in health, energy, environment and education battle contentious issues with a consensus-based approach.
The meeting is 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Duke’s Canoe Club at Kalapaki Beach. It is free.
