Fire burns shed; damage at $75K

LIHUE — A shed fire Tuesday night caused an estimated $75,000 damage.

Firefighters were dispatched to Ho‘olako Street in Lihue about 10:30 p.m. to find an outside storage shed fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters brought the fire under control about 10:40 and fully extinguished all flames shortly after 10:45.

Prior to units arriving on scene, the homeowner had attempted to put out the fire with an extinguisher.

Inspectors estimate the damage to the structure and its contents to be roughly $75,000.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. No injuries were reported.

    Doe’s KFD ever determine the cause of the fire? Why do we have Fire Inspectors/Investigators if they can never solve the origin/cause of the fire>
