KOKEE Firefighters rescued a hiker from the Waipoo Falls trail area in Kokee on Friday.
KOKE‘E — Firefighters rescued a hiker from the Waipo‘o Falls trail area in Koke‘e on Friday.
Shortly before 1:15 p.m., firefighters received a report that a 42-year-old female hiker sustained injuries to her right leg after falling, according to the county.
About 2 p.m., Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 spotted the hiking party 200 feet below a ridge. Rescuers splinted and carried her to the top of the ridge, and boarded Air 1.
Rescue 3 dropped off the woman to firefighters and medical personnel at the Porter’s Landing Zone.
Medical personnel treated the victim and transported her to the hospital.
