Silva tops at KAGRA rodeo

POIPU — Coryssa Silva headed for sister Casera Silva, who served as the heeler for the dally team roping event at the most recent Kauai All Girls Rodeo Association rodeo that wrapped up Sunday at CJM Country Stables in Poipu.

The sister duo finished the event in third place with an 8.76-second time on just one go. Coryssa finished tops in the barrel racing event, with a time of 18.076 seconds. She also captured the steer undecorating crown with a time of 6.09 seconds.

Casera finished third in barrel racing, stopping the watch at 18.435 seconds, before coming back in pole bending to finish second aboard Twister in 22.845 seconds. She finished third in steer undecorating with a time of 16.66 seconds, and the consistent showing pushed her to all around cowgirl honors, closely challenged by Coryssa Silva, who earned reserve all around cowgirl honors.

The next KAGRA rodeo will take place Sunday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at CJM Country Stables.
