Darien Kealoha-Albarado is a junior in the Hui Ho’okipa Business Academy at Kauai High School, and he is asking for a little help.
“My team and I are conducting our junior mock job interviews on May 28,” he wrote. “We are short on interviewers for this event and need to reach out to the community for help.”
Mock job interviews are set for the junior class to have the opportunity to engage and interact firsthand in career reality.
“We give them this opportunity to practice and grow from their experience and prepare themselves for their futures,” said a press release. “We believe it is also a great opportunity for them to learn more about careers that interest them.”
This experience ties into the junior year Personal Transition Plan activities, wherein students learn how to create a resume, learn about proper interview attire and presentation, and work on interviewing skills.
There are about 275 student interviews to conduct in one day.
Participants will be provided with interview questions to choose from and an evaluation form for each student. This year organizers are creating an interview pool so each individual interview will not have to be scheduled.
“Can you please take time from your schedule to interview high school students and provide them with feedback on how they can improve their interviewing skills?” said the release.
Interviews will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school.
