Kauai Spring Open jiu-jitsu tourney this weekend

LIHUE — The Kauai Spring Open, an event hosted by the Hawaii Triple Crown of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, will take place Saturday at Kauai High School.

Weigh-ins will start 8:30 a.m. and the competition will start 10 a.m.

Registration closed Wednesday night, but late entrants can enter on-site the morning of the tournament for an additional fee. Cost will be $90 for adults and $70 for kids not including the late fee.

For spectators, tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Children 5 years old and younger are free.

Part of the tournament’s proceeds will be donated to nonprofit Project Hawaii to aid homelessness.
