Costa, Faidley make DII volleyball all-tourney team

HONOLULU — Kapaa’s Kiran Costa and Justin Faidley were named to the New City Nissan/Hawaii High School Athletic Association Boys Volleyball Division II All-Tournament Team, Saturday following the Division II state title game at the Blaidell Center on Oahu.

Costa, who finished the effort with four digs and 17 kills, helped lead No. 2 seeded Kapaa in their battle for the state title. Faidley helped the effort in the middle with seven kills, three blocks, and dug out a ball.

The Warriors came up short, 23-25, 25-21, 23-25, and 12-25, against St. Francis who had five players named to the Division II All-Tournament team, including Lucas Biondi getting the nod as the Most Outstanding Player.

Other Saints making the team include Makua Marumoto, Fa‘aope Laloulu, Jesus Garcia, and Walter Berthold.
