HONOLULU — Officials say an 18-year-old University of Hawaii student has died after he collapsed during a workout at the recreation center on the Manoa campus.
Honolulu Emergency Management Services officials say medical personnel were called to the campus to a report of a student who had stopped breathing Saturday morning.
The student was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his name.
University spokesperson Dan Meisenzahl said in a statement that counselors are available to students and they will be reaching out to those who knew the man.
