KAPAA — Learn how to eat your way to a healthy life on Sunday, April 7, at a vegan potluck and lecture courtesy of the Vegetarian Society of Hawaii.
And you’ll be able to dive into dinner while you’re listening to certified holistic cancer coach Paul Schmitendorf talk about a diet and lifestyle that contributes to longevity and lasting health.
The free lecture is set for 1 p.m. at the Kapaa Neighborhood Center.
Schmitendorf will share how to adopt a cancer-prevention lifestyle and lecture on what he’s learned about cancer — going beyond nutrition and into lifestyle choices, as well as other areas related to cancer prevention.
Kauai’s Vegetarian Society of Hawaii Chapter meets monthly and hosts different speakers.
Organizers ask those who attend to bring a vegan dish, with an attached recipe and ingredient list. Those who contribute are entered into a drawing for best dish of the evening, with a prize of $25 up for grabs.
If you don’t have time to whip up a dish, the suggested donation is $10.
