HONOLULU — A rail contractor whistleblower says the U.S. Department of Transportation’s inspector general has inquired about his claims.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Wednesday that 55-year-old Edward Morris says he was fired last year from his job as a quality manager for Honolulu rail contractor Traylor Bros. Inc.
A lawsuit filed in Honolulu circuit court in January says Morris and others working on an airport rail segment voiced concerns over lack of adherence to project requirements.
Morris says he has been contacted by the transportation department’s inspector general, but his attorney says he has not yet been interviewed.
Traylor Bros. is a partner in a joint $874.7 million design-build contract awarded by the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation.
An attorney for Traylor Bros. says they dispute Morris’s claims.

Its about time the FBI steps into this $10 billion dollar Rail infested with corruption and political cronyism of corrupt politicians, family members and friends all sucking the public trough, engorging themselves with greed of both State and Federal funds.
Makes you wonder why the State Attorney General has not even consider investigating this massive project because it is probably also corrupt to the core as the City Prosecutor’s office and former HPD Chief and wife Kealohas.
Oahu’s mayor is also a “fine” example of how greed corrupts politicians, he hardy pays any property taxes living in some “historic home”, but advocates that others pay for Rail while at the same time in addition to his City Mayor’s salary of six figures, makes $200,000 more as a bank CEO that loans money to Rail contractors. The FBI should go after him as well as others involved in Rail including property owners who got way above market prices for their land where Rail is going through.
Six figures? Please tell me you’re kidding. The mayor has no rail in him. He is an innocent man. He stole no money.
