Happy Girls Day, Kauai!
Kudos to Mokihana Aquatics coach Chelsea “coach Lahiki” Chock, who got her USA Swimming certification just in time to make the Sparky’s swim meet in Hilo this weekend (good luck to all the Mokihana Aquatics and Swim Kauai Aquatics younger swimmers!). Coach Orlando “O” Anaya said she’s not done yet. She gets to work on getting certified as a Water Safety Instructor after Sparky’s.
Kud0s to Stephanie Shinno, Glenn Tamagawa and all those Kauai Junior Golf Association helpers on hosting a great Glow Golf event for more than 100 keiki. Kauai High boys golf coach Alton Amimoto said his son got started with Glow Golf because he had so much fun, and even won a prize. Kauai High Athletic Director Kelii Morgado had his family in town, and Kauai Christian Academy Athletic Director Chris Cullen said he had so much fun last year he had to come do it again.
But Stephanie wasn’t through. She had the Team Lihue Warriors golf tournament on tap Saturday at the Hokuala Ocean Course to try and help with the expenses of getting two teams, of fifth-through-eighth-graders, to a Hilo tournament.
