Friday, March 1 marked the 100th anniversary of the Sam-il Movement also known as the Manse Demonstrations. March 1, 1919 marked one of the first public displays of Korean resistance during the Japanese colonial rule of Korea from 1910 to 1945.
The March 1 Independence Movement officially became a national holiday in 1949. There was a centennial celebration locally last Friday at the Christ United Methodist Church on Oahu. Japanese colonial rule of Korea ended with the conclusion of World War II in 1945.

‘The Fiery Priest’

Today, 6:45 p.m.: Righteous, but hot-tempered Father Kim Hae Il causes trouble in Yeosu and is sent to Seoul’s Gudam church. He runs into greedy and power-hungry prosecutor, Park Kyeong Seon and the naive detective, Koo Dae Young. They are characters that would not leave Father Kim Hae Il in peace. Will he survive in the new church?
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Father Hae Il starts his life at Gudam Church with guidance of Father Lee Young Jun. He witnesses Hwang Cheol Bum and his thugs threatening Father Lee and his church members. Father Hae Il blames Detective Koo for not doing his job.
‘Haechi’

Monday, 7:45 p.m.: At the end of King Sukjong’s era, a rumor spreads of the Crown Prince’s bleak chance at having an heir. Different factions contend to enthrone a replacement, leaving the Crown Prince powerless. Haechi is a legendary creature that judges between good and evil. Saheonbu is a powerful judicial authority which investigates crimes and arrest criminals.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Lowly Prince Yeoning Lee Geum, Park Moon Soo and a damo named Yeo Ji’s fates are intertwined. They pursue Prince Milpoong Lee Tan for different reasons. They meet a famous clown named Dal Moon. They come together in efforts to capture him and are at the verge of finding crucial evidence when they are placed in a dangerous situation.
‘The Last Empress’
Episodes 49 and 50 (Wed.); 51 and 52 (Thur.) Final
Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Lee Hyuk tells Lee Yoon that he cannot just abandon his empire and his life at the palace. Sunny finds the Grand Queen Dowager’s original will. Sunny fires Kang Hee as Princess Ari’s nanny. Lee Hyuk asks Sunny if she would ever forgive him again, but does not like what he hears. Wang Shik finds himself in a dangerous car chase.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m:
Lee Hyuk hides his identity and takes on a new role to do right by Sunny. The Queen Dowager attempts to close the palace. Will Sunny’s fight against the corrupted Queen Dowager end in her favor?
‘Healing Love’
Episodes 29 and 30 (Fri.); Episodes 31 and 32 (Sat.)
Friday, 7:45 p.m: Sam Sook collapses, ending up in the hospital. Song Joo asks Jin Yoo what he will do with the Chi Yoo’s sketch. Yi Yoo feels a certain pull from Joo Chul. Jae Hak spills his frustration onto Bu Han.
Saturday, 7:45 p.m: Madam Jeong questions Song Joo about her anxiousness and out of character behavior. Bu Han tells Chi Woo to have her mother live with them. An old memory links Chi Woo and Jin Yoo together. Chi Woo starts working at Jin Yoo’s company.
