HANAPEPE — The Warriors of Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii improved to 4-0 with wins against Kauai High School and Kapaa High School on Friday during the second day of the Waimea Menehune Invitational softball tournament at the Hanapepe Stadium.
The results of Friday play sets the stage for the showdown between Mililani, which enjoyed dual wins Thursday during the opening day of the best-record tournament.
A 7-0 shutout over host Waimea on Thursday night saw KS-Hawaii deadlock with the Trojans with a 2-0 opening round.
All three Kauai Interscholastic Federation teams finished the opening day with 1-1 records. Kauai dropped to 1-3 following its dual losses Friday. Kapaa dropped to 1-2 after losing, 10-1, against KS-Hawaii and went against host Waimea in the 4 p.m. contest. Result was not available by press time.
The tournament continues Saturday with seven games on tap starting at 9 a.m. when the KS-Hawaii team tangles with the Mililani Trojans to open the day.
