Holidays vary by state

It depends on the state you live in whether you officially honor one or the other or both of these presidents, since states decide which holidays to adopt. Some states have adopted Washington’s Birthday, and some, Lincoln’s Birthday also as a legal holiday, and a dozen or so — like Hawaii — officially celebrate President’s Day. This day has come to honor not only the original two, but all presidents.
