Thursday’s statewide average price was $3.27 a gallon, which is 1 cent higher than last Thursday, 1 cent higher than a month ago and 18 cents less than a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
Lihue’s average price for regular was $3.49, which is down a penny since last Thursday, 4 cents lower than on this date last month and 12 cents lower than a year ago today.
In Honolulu, the average price for regular wa $3.10, unchanged from last Thursday, the same price as on this date a month ago and 18 cents lower than on this date last year.
“The Energy Information Administration weekly report showed that western U.S. gasoline stocks decreased slightly by approximately 200,000 barrels to 32.6 million barrels,” according to Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager. “Stocks are approximately 2.4 million barrels lower than at this time last year, which could pose a risk of higher retail prices if there is a supply challenge in the area.”
