County Housing Agency set to receive $132k

LIHUE — U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson on Thursday awarded $74 million to hundreds of public housing authorities across the country, including $567,460 to six public housing agencies in Hawaii and Guam.

The Kauai County Housing Agency was slated to receive $132,000.

The funds are targeted to help public housing residents.

HUD’s Family Self-Sufficiency Program helps local public housing authorities hire service coordinators who work directly with residents to connect them with programs and services that already exist in the local community.
