Yukie-Lynn Nalani DeSilva
Yukie-Lynn Nalani DeSilva of Kapaa passed away at Queen’s Medical Center on Jan. 26, 2019, at the age of 48. Born on Dec. 7, 1970, she was an advertising sales assistant for The Garden Island newspaper and an active CrossFitter at Kauai CrossFit.
She was preceded in death by father Yukio Higashi, brothers-in-law Alan and Shannon DeSilva, and sister-in-law Lynette Meatoga.
She is survived by husband of 29 years Kevin DeSilva, daughter Moana (Chris) Baltazar, son Dustyn (Michaela Manago) DeSilva, hanai son Kalani Kahaunaele, mother Olinda Higashi, sisters Maile (Jonah) Cummings and Anolani (Kelo Rivera) Higashi, brothers Gordon (Danice) Higashi, Alvin (Deborah) Higashi, Dean (Mel) Higashi, Blaine Kaneholani and Kenny (Kana Kaohi) Meatoga, in-laws Wayne and Rita DeSilva, brother-in-law Travis (Lisa) DeSilva, and grandchildren Cijay, Cyris, Christyn and Chloey Baltazar.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, March 9, at Anahola Beach Park, with visitation at 10 a.m. and services to follow.
Marcelo Antonio Cayaban
Marcelo Antonio Cayaban, 86, of Eleele, passed away on Feb. 10, 2019 at his home in Eleele.
He was born on April 1, 1932, in the Philippines, and was a retired field worker with Pioneer Hi-bred International Inc.
He is survived by wife Loreta Sensano Cayaban of Eleele, sons Romy (Donna) Cayaban, Fred (Georgeatte) Cayaban, Rodulfo “Rudy” Cayaban, Danilo (Rhodelia) Cayaban and Jonathan Cayaban, all of Eleele, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. There will be a burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Gale Elizabeth Lee
Gale Elizabeth Lee, 63, of Kalaheo, passed peacefully on Feb. 4, 2019 at Kaiser Hospital in Honolulu.
Born on Sept. 11, 1955, in Hawthorne, California, she and her husband Herb owned Kauai Vacation Helpers and Hideaway Cove Poipu Beach.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Jeff Wright and father Frank Lundstrom.
She is survived by her husband Herb Lee, daughter Kim (Justin) Wright, son Bill (Jessica) Wright, stepdaughter Nicole Wright, step-granddaughter Nalani Wright, mother Virginia Lundstrom, brothers Chuck (Donna) Lundstrom, Paul (Sue) Lundstrom and Ed (Kathy) Lundstrom, sister Alice (Ron) Torres, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at The Club at Kukuiula in Poipu on Saturday, March 9, at 2 p.m.
