Yukie-Lynn Nalani DeSilva
Yukie-Lynn Nalani DeSilva of Kapaa passed away at Queen’s Medical Center on Jan. 26, 2019, at the age of 48. Born on Dec. 7, 1970, she was an advertising sales assistant for The Garden Island newspaper and an active CrossFitter at Kauai CrossFit.
She was preceded in death by father Yukio Higashi, brothers-in-law Alan and Shannon DeSilva, and sister-in-law Lynette Meatoga.
She is survived by husband of 29 years Kevin DeSilva, daughter Moana (Chris) Baltazar, son Dustyn (Michaela Manago) DeSilva, hanai son Kalani Kahaunaele, mother Olinda Higashi, sisters Maile (Jonah) Cummings and Anolani (Kelo Rivera) Higashi, brothers Gordon (Danice) Higashi, Alvin (Deborah) Higashi, Dean (Mel) Higashi, Blaine Kaneholani and Kenny (Kana Kaohi) Meatoga, in-laws Wayne and Rita DeSilva, brother-in-law Travis (Lisa) DeSilva, and grandchildren Cijay, Cyris, Christyn and Chloey Baltazar.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, March 9, at Anahola Beach Park, with visitation at 10 a.m. and services to follow.
Teresa Annette Floreen (Bukoski) Morita
Teresa Annette Floreen (Bukoski) Morita, 62, of Koloa, passed away on Jan. 13, 2019, at Wilcox Medical Center. She was born in Lihue on Jan. 22, 1956. She worked most recently as an office assistant with Workforce Development Division services in the American Job Center.
She was preceded in death by parents Antone Bukoski Jr. and Flora Lumacad Bukoski, and brothers Patrick Bukoski, Robert (Felicia) Bukoski and Wayne Paglinawan.
She is survived by ex-husband Wesley (Val) Morita, daughter Westy (Derek) Kessler, son Anthony (Joanie) Morita, brothers Ivan Navarro, Carl Paglinawan and Nolan Paglinawan, sister Darlene McHenry, grandchildren Tylenn, Selena, Krystah, Tiare and Skyler Morita, and Aukai, Keegan and James Kessler, and numerous nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa, with visitation with the family at 9 a.m. with Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment will take place at St. Raphael Cemetery in Koloa at a later date.

Dylan-Thomas Pomaika‘i Dela Cruz
Dylan-Thomas Pomaika‘i Dela Cruz, 24, of Lihue, passed away on Jan. 15, 2019, at Straub Medical Center in Honolulu. He was born on Oct. 18, 1994, and was employed at Gaylord’s at Kilohana.
He was preceded in death by grandparents MacArthur Dela Cruz and Jamie Moniz.
He is survived by daughter Teisha Dela Cruz, parents Charlotte (Dennis) Gomez and Doren (Leah) Dela Cruz, sister Kalani Kua‘e Dela Cruz, brother Darren Dela Cruz, half-sister Maileah Moulton Dela Cruz, half-brothers Lucius and Zefiya Moulton Dela Cruz, stepbrothers Nicolai and Kenai Moulton Nakaahiki, grandparents Linda Dela Cruz, Sharon (Larry) Duque, Lolita Moniz and Joseph (Julie) Taboniar, great-grandmother Rosalina Arizo, and numerous uncles, aunties and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Aloha Church in Lihue, with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and services to follow.

Dennis Ichiyo Oshiro of Kapaa passed away on Jan. 30, 2019.
He was born on May 19, 1950.
He was preceded in death by father Susumu Oshiro, mother Mitsue Rachel Oshiro and sister Kathleen Nickens.
He is survived by wife Daunene “Dino” Oshiro, sons Dan Kala Oshiro of Kapaa, Karl-Anthony La‘akea Oshiro of Lihue and Poai Oshiro of Seattle, stepdaughter Chrissy Gorospe of Kapaa, sisters Karen Nakamura of Kalaheo and Sheri-Lyn (Alton) Amimoto of Lihue, brothers Nelson (Cheryl) Oshiro of Hanapepe and Keith Oshiro of Lihue, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue. Visitation with the family will begin at 9 a.m., with services to follow at 10 a.m.
Gorgonia Hilario Diego
Gorgonia Hilario Diego, 83, of Princeville, passed away at home on Feb. 4, 2019. She was born in Maan-Anteng, Solsona, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on Dec. 9, 1935, and retired as a taro farmer. She was preceded in death by husband Augustin Diego. She is survived by sons Augustin Diego and Alex (Sandy) Diego, daughter Glenda Diego, five grandchildren, sisters Marina (Julio) Agacid and Priscilla DeVera, brothers Cosme (Virgie) Hilario, Andy (Liza) Jambaro and Vincente (Mary) Hilario, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life is Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. William Church in Hanalei, with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hanalei Valley Chinese Cemetery.
