POIPU — Sheraton Kauai Resort held a dedication ceremony and blessing of its remodeled Garden Wing on Tuesday.
Kahu Jade Wai‘ale‘ale-Battad presided over the ceremony in the resort’s new lobby, and resort associates participated in the planting of mamaki. A plant traditionally used for a variety of purposes in Hawaiian culture, mamaki symbolizes the versatility of the Sheraton Kauai ohana.
Last year, Sheraton Kauai Resort celebrated its 50th anniversary.
“Today we celebrate the first year of a new beginning for us, and we’re grateful to have the opportunity to reveal the transformation of the Garden Wing,” said Chip Bahouth, general manager. “But a building is just a building. What makes us special and sets us apart from anywhere else in the world is that we have aloha. We have ohana.”
In addition to its new lobby, the renovation of the resort’s Garden Wing include the updated garden pool and new villa accommodations.
