LIHUE — Patients visiting Dr. Joseph Chu at Kauai Endontics had their work done Wednesday at no charge.
This is the ninth year that Chu has offered this service to his patients.
“I’ve been busy for nine years,” Chu said. “And more people are calling. This is just a little thing I can do to help people out.”
Chu’s gesture for Valentine’s Day did not go unnoticed, as some of his suppliers joined the effort, offering free dental goodie bags for his Valentine’s Day effort.
Brenton Wong of Dentsply Shirona and Kristy Oslund, of Patterson Dental, joined Chu in his Lihue office to distribute the care packages to patients leaving, following their free work.
“We’ve got some things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, some lip balm, and even candy,” said Oslund. “This might sound contradictory — candy from a dentist — but, it is Valentine’s Day, so it’s special.”
