The National Tropical Botanical Garden and Kauai Community College’s collaborative “Earth Matters” public lecture series continues on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m.
Speaker Mike Letzring, senior plant propagator at the San Diego Zoo, will talk about the design and installation of “Africa Rocks,” an eight-acre exhibit showcasing the biodiversity of Africa and Madagascar.
Letzring will discuss how six immersive habitats (acacia woodlands, Ethiopian highlands, and forests of Madagascar and West Africa, etc.) introduce visitors to plants and animals as varied as proteas and penguins, lemurs, leopards, and thousands of other life forms endemic to the region.
The talk will in the KCC Campus Center cafeteria behind the Performing Arts Center.
