LIHUE — Aloha Petroleum recently donated $7,375 to Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, a nonprofit organization that mentors children through one-on-one, professionally supported mentorships.
LIHUE — Aloha Petroleum recently donated $7,375 to Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, a nonprofit organization that mentors children through one-on-one, professionally supported mentorships.
The funds were raised through Aloha Petroleum’s ongoing canister collection program at statewide participating Aloha Island Mart stores, including several on Kauai.
“It is thanks to our customers and their outstanding support that we are able to contribute to local nonprofits, such as Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii,” said Gary Altman, general manager of company-operated stores for Aloha Petroleum.
“We’re so pleased to support the great work that they do to help children facing adversity reach their fullest potential by matching them with a caring volunteer in a one-to-one, mentoring friendship.”
“We’re so grateful to Aloha Petroleum and its customers for this generous donation,” said Dennis Brown, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii. “We are only able to offer professionally supported mentoring programs to families and volunteers at no cost thanks to gifts such as these.”
Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii is a statewide organization that serves over 1,400 keiki and mentors each year and is established on Kauai.
