WAIMEA — Wrestlers from Kauai, Kapaa and Waimea high schools were selected into two teams for a modified dual meet Saturday at Waimea High School.
The Green team defeated the Red team, 54-33.
Points were accumulated with each win. Pins or technical falls were awarded more points than decisions.
Kauai junior Mason Stoll-Tolentino is still unbeaten in the Kauai Interscholastic Federation season at 7-0.
Stoll-Tolentino defetated Waimea’s Barak Aviguetero in a boys 126-pound match in overtime.
Kapaa High School has a number of girls wrestlers that will be vying for KIF titles. Warrior wrestlers Danielle Santos and Ini Marshall, too, are unbeaten in their KIF campaigns.
The KIF wrestling season’s third tournament is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. at Kapaa High School.
