The Lihue Business Association will meet 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday at Duke’s Canoe Club, Kalapaki. It is free and open to the public.
On the agenda is a discussion on “How Kauai gets its news.”
“Ten years ago, the LBA held a program about how Kauai gets its news. The news business has changed dramatically since then with the decline in daily newspaper readership and the advent of electronic and social media as major players in information delivery,” according to an LBA meeting notice. “How have those changes affected us, an informed public?”
On the panel will be Bill Buley, editor, The Garden Island newspaper; Marj Dente, founding member, KKCR Kauai Community Radio, board member, Kekahu Foundation; Jim Simon, managing editor, Honolulu Civil Beat; and Sarah Thompson, social media expert.
