Crash victim identified

LIHUE — Police identified the man killed in a car crash Saturday morning near Halfway Bridge as Mark Dizol, 54, of Kalaheo.

According to police, Dizol was heading west on Kaumualii Highway in a Ford F150 pickup when he crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming flatbed truck shortly after 5 a.m.

Dizol was transported by ambulance to Wilcox Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the flatbed truck, a 32-year-old Lawai man, was also transported to Wilcox Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
