Ernest Anthony Medeiros
Ernest Anthony Medeiros, 77, of Lihue, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Dec. 23, 2018. He was born in Koloa on Nov. 23, 1941, and retired from NASA Tracking Station as a security guard, and also retired from Avis Rent-A-Car as a service agent.
He was preceded in death by wife Gloria Medeiros, grandson Preston Lee “Makana” Ramson, parents Lawrence and Marie Medeiros, and brother Gilbert Medeiros.
He is survived by daughters Christina (David Arzadon) Medeiros of Lihue, Gina Ramson of Kalaheo and Laurenne (Kimo) Wilson of Lihue, son Ernest (Sue) Medeiros of Washington, grandchildren Jessica Calves, Skyler (Kyra) Ramson, Seanna (Ashley) Medeiros, Jaerene Medeiros, Eric Rivera Medeiros, Jacie Lynn Fabro, Shania-Leigh Nishimori-Medeiros, Shai Nishimori and Kimren Medeiros-Wilson, great-grandchildren Zyrah-Lee Ramson, Relyx Ramson and Rylee Ramson, sisters Marylou Correa and Bernice Perreira, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Holy Cross Church, with visitation from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., eulogy from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m., and Mass celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Randford (Randy)
Lee Canales
Randford (Randy) Lee Canales passed away on Oct. 16, 2018, at the age of 56. Born in Lihue on Jan. 9, 1962, he was an auto body mechanic for Advance Auto Body in Modesto, California.
He was preceded in death by father Emilio Canales and sister Beverly Philips.
He is survived by wife Marrya Bell, sons Levi (Tashiana) Canales, Rejis Canales and Andrew Canales, daughters Kyra (John) Canales and Healani Canales, stepchildren Tyler (Ashley) Hale and Krista Bell, brothers Blaine (Linda) Yaris, Salvador (Wendy) Yaris Jr. and Rodney Canales, sisters Waedeen (Eddie) Yaris and Rodreen Canales Boyd, mother Alice Canales, and four grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Niumalu Beach Park pavilion at 4:30 p.m. This is a potluck and BYOB gathering. His ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony with close friends and family.

Rayray Jr.
Gerry Valdez Rayray Jr., 27, of Lihue, passed away on Dec. 29, 2018, in Lihue.
Born on Aug. 17, 1991, in Lihue, he was an assistant bakery manager at Deli &Bread Connection.
He was preceded in death by grandfather Steven Kaauwai, grandmother Judith Freitas, brother Lucas Makana Riley and cousin Kalena Freitas.
He is survived by mother Kitty Lee Freitas, father Gerry (Tracy) Valdez Rayray Sr., brother Jayden Celebrado, sisters Ashley Rayray, Autumn Rayray, Amelia Rayray and Neolani Panes, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 12, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa from 9 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., followed by a paddle-out and luncheon at Kukuiula Small Boat Harbor.
The family suggests casual attire.
