For the fourth year in a row, the Zonta Club of Hanalei and Santa’s elves are making the holidays brighter for some special families on the North Shore.
The annual project helps families in need, an object the entire Zonta Club of Kauai has been undertaking during the holiday season.
This year, during the annual Hanalei Zonta event, 20 families received holidays baskets, prepared by the Zonta Hanalei members, containing all the fixings for a meal to celebrate the holidays. In addition to the dinner baskets, 56 keiki in the families also received gifts from Santa.
Assisting Santa and Zonta Hanalei in providing the dinner baskets were the elves at Safeway Kapaa, Safeway Lihue, Hanalei Bread, Hanalei Poi, Hanalei Taro, and Moloa‘a Organica’a. The elves helping provide the keiki gifts included Dr. Mike May and friends, Willie Weinstein, Laurie Antonellis, and the Koloa Surf Company. Generously providing a special gift for each of the family heads was the Stanny Foundation.
Zonta Club of Hanalei is a member of Zonta International working for the global empowerment and advancement of women.
