Prior to the varsity boys match, Kauai’s varsity girls team defeated Waimea, 3-1, in Hanapepe. Cheyann Fujii, Mayumi Fulgencio and Mia Takekuma each scored for the Red Raider girls. Jordyn Maruyami Chang-Wo scored for the Menehune.
In Puhi, Nakela Snyder scored the lone goal as Kapaa High School’s varsity boys soccer team beat Island School, 1-0.
Before that match, Maya Loughead bagged a brace as Kapaa’s varsity girls team defeated Island School, 2-0.
The Kauai Interscholastic Federation soccer season resumes Jan. 5.
At Hanapepe Stadium, Waimea’s girls team (2-4-1 KIF) will play against Island School (0-7-0 KIF) at 10 a.m., the Waimea’s boys team (0-4-1 KIF) will play Island School (0-2-3 KIF) at noon.
At Vidinha Stadium, Kauai’s girls team (7-0-0 KIF) will play Kapaa (4-2-1 KIF) at 1:30 p.m., then the Kauai boys (2-1-2 KIF) will play Kapaa (5-0-0 KIF) at 3:30 p.m.
