Lihue Airport lot full

LIHUE — The Hawaii Department of Transportatio Airports Division alerts travelers on Kauai that all 575 public parking stalls at Lihue Airport are occupied and the parking may remain full over the weekend.

Travelers should get dropped off at the airport or schedule another method of transportation. Motorists who drive to the airport will not be allowed to wait at the lot entrance until a vehicle exits.

Thank your incoming administration for remodeling your quaint airport into a mega Maui size monstrosity in the coming years! Gonna be mean! So much tourists.

Are you kidding me? So no provision for spill-over parking? What happened to the satellite area that used to be there? (Let me guess, it’s been re-“purposed” by some forward thinking committee….into “green-space”?) So now locals (the ones impacted, since visitors mostly rent) will now be faced with missed flights and ruined trips—or exhorbitant cab fares?! How about at least a hotline to call for updates? Do we have any leadership on this island? …Maybe I’m just uninformed, and this article left something out.
