David Thorp, librarian at the Koloa Public/School Library, finds another box of DVDs for the Friends of the Koloa Public Library used book sale that runs today and Friday.

KOLOA — David Thorp, librarian at the Koloa Public/School Library, said there are a lot of books available for the used book sale that starts today and runs through Friday at the Koloa Public/School Library.

“Usually we have a book sale about every six months,” Thorp said. “This time, it’s been more than a year since our last sale so there are a lot of titles in all categories available. Additionally, we had an individual contribute his collection of books on metaphysics and alternative medicine before moving to the mainland. There is definitely a lot to choose from.”

The Friends of the Koloa Public/School Library hosts the sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days in the library’s conference room.

“Oh, look,” said Cheryl Shintani, president of the Koloa Friends. “Here is a copy of a Bing Crosby Christmas CD, and it is still in the original cellohane. It’s unopened. We have a lot of these original, unopened CDs.”

Also available at the sale are Hawaiiana, hard and soft copies of fiction, nonfiction, children’s titles, and an assortment of audio visual material, including DVDs and CDs.

“We especially have a large amount of DVDs,” Thorp said. “So much that we may put special pricing on them. But, we’ll see.”
