LIHUE — Hollywood is looking to cast three keiki in an upcoming film shooting on the island in January.
Specifically, Elixir casting department is looking for Polynesian-looking boys, ages 8 to 14, to play younger versions of the film’s three principal actors.
“Some Samoan language ability helpful but not necessary,” the casting call says. “There may be speaking lines for some/all of these boys so they must be comfortable on camera and taking direction.”
Other requirements are the child must be on Kauai, legal to work in the U.S. and available to work in January.
“We are just starting to prep for the next exciting major feature film shooting on Kauai in January 2019,” the casting call says.
Details of the project — including the film’s name and principal actors — are under wraps, but there is at least one feature film set to shoot on Kauai in 2019, “Hobbs and Shaw,” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who was on Kauai earlier this year for the filming of “Jungle Cruise.”
Anyone with boys ages 8 to 14 interested should contact Elixir at kauaimoviecasting@gmail.com, using the subject line: “Child Actor Submission.”
