Dennis Fujimoto/The Garden Island

A Hawaiian Caper (Uli‘i Castor of the Kauai Museum has its Hawaiian name) bloom, traditionally a night-blooming variety, retains its freshness in the cool morning rain during the White Cane Day walk past the Kauai Museum where the native plant is among the museum’s moku gardens.

Lions Morgan Moises, Muriah Moises, Wayne Mukai, Debi Thompson, Jim Whitfield, Janice Bond, and Jeff Venzon celebrate togetherness during the White Cane Day walk, an initiative of the Lions Club of Kauai.

Kudos to Leona Sa-McDermott (she was busy with both the Special Olympics bowling tournament, and the Hammers and Ale fundraiser for the Kauai Habitat for Humanity!) and Lisa Aki on spearheading the Special Olympics bowling tournament that combined with the Molokai Sweetbread (Mokihana Aquatics is taking orders for its Kanimitsu Bakery bread from Molokai, too!) fundraiser Saturday!
